Is The Perrier YouTube Video Successful?

Nearly 10 million views have been logged in just a couple weeks. http://www.youtube.com/perrier Any campaign generating that performance on line is very successful.

The Hook

The higher the views, the hotter the video. Perrier, set benchmarks for views and when they are hit the video changes to hotter and hotter nightclub scenes. The visuals and music are awesome which makes you want to come back. The more you come back , the more the brand is embedded in your mind. Perrier is wanting to convert those views into incremental sales.

Social Media Marketing Synergy

Perrier offers viewers the options of sharing on Facebook, Twitter and to email the link to friends. Is this working? I discovered this video from a share on Facebook. If you visit the Perrier Page on Facebook you will see nearly 50 million likes. You will also see an expanded campaign for LeClub Perrier which is linked to the video. Perrier has absolutely succeeded in creating a buzz. Thing is, with the video showing very sexy people who are literally hot. Watching the video can have you thinking about a drink. Perrier is betting a percentage buys and drinks Perrier.

Great Job Perrier!

Local Search Marketing – 7 Ways to Leverage the Impact of Social Media

Despite the popularity of social media and its positive impact on local search marketing campaigns have become an important factor for success, many people are still wondering exactly how social media can influence the position of the results of local search marketing. When asked about the major search engines, have confirmed that the organic local traffic of search engines is considered a valid basis for the ranking of local search engines.

As usual, the big search engines do not reveal how it measures the impact of social media for marketing of local search. Nevertheless, the criteria to determine its effects are obvious:

1. Relevance – Contrary to what most people think local search results ranking depends largely on the relevance of the post other than just mere posting. The objective is to ensure that the links are distributed across the social media platform is worthwhile and naturally done. In other words, it is not about “following” or “liking” of a specific link. Rather, the effect of an impact, forcing a mate to share the link with other “friends” in the social community.

2. Republication of Links – A second factor that determines the importance of social media to search results republication of local links. This doubles the organic traffic is considered a bump up in ranking search results. For example, the counter if you want to tweet a link directly from Facebook, it simply indicates how popular search engines on the link is both organic traffic, even if it comes from an original source.

3. Privacy features – While Facebook has become known as the media more popular and widely used social platform, privacy features have limited the potential popularity. Unlike Twitter, Facebook has a privacy feature that can be the number of “likes” that limit the counting of organic traffic.

In light of these examples, social media is really playing the part of local search marketing. When maximizing correctly, social media can work brilliantly to generate organic traffic for your online business. Other features of the most popular social media platforms are as follows:

4. Facebook Group – If you think you hit two birds with one stone is luck, you need to learn how your invitation, as it can multiply into the hundreds. Facebook groups is another feature that online businesses can benefit. It is considered the most effective way to update their faithful fans of what’s in and what’s fashionable riding your business. Not to mention that it is cheaper. He lives simplest rule that your web site do attractive to visitors (“Liker” in this case) will be maintained and, where appropriate, “like” in your page.

5. Facebook PPC – in addition to efforts to collect as much as possible the fans, the second characteristic can help advertise their products and services. Facebook PPC is an advertising method that attracts paid traffic. They are paid advertisements popping on the right panel of the Facebook page. These are sure to transport, it is necessary to increase the local website search rankings. When you select the ads you post, make sure you have a clear understanding of your targeted traffic. Otherwise it would be paid for transportation can not convert the sale.

6. Webinar – also called video marketing is the most attractive local search marketing. Like most online users are visual learners, they are easily attracted by videos than feature articles. Video marketing is the most enjoyable and touching method for generating organic traffic and paid.

7. Blogging and Forum – before the advent of Facebook and Twitter, many people are on blogs and forums. These methods are facilitated by a local business is the avenue for sharing best practices and new products and services to potential buyers. In addition to marketing, these methods have been considered as part of the efforts of local search marketing to teach people in the community.

You will find other ways to harness the power of social media to your local search marketing efforts. For now, these examples deal with the foundation of your best to invade the local market. Looking at the ranking of pages of platforms social media, there is no doubt they are among the busiest Web sites of these days. So what are you waiting for? Upgrade your fan page, attract as much as possible, generate sales by social networks!

Ads On Facebook Underperform Industry Standards

Ads on Facebook cost more but got fewer click-throughs in 2010 compared to 2009, and performed about half as well as traditional banner ads, according to a new survey.

The Cost Per Click Increased by Nearly 100% From 2009 to 2010

According to Webtrends, the average click-through rate (CTR) for Facebook ads in 2009 was 0.063% and 0.051% in 2010 — half as much as industry standard of .1%. The cost per click (CPC) was also $0.27 and $0.49 for those periods, respectively.

The Best Facebook Ads Target Friends of Fans

Ads targeting friends of fans last three times longer than standard ads because new fans keep coming on board, adding more friends and thus more potential ad targets.

Should You Use Facebook Ads?

The number one rule in marketing is “Test”! The Facebook Ad system makes testing easy. Your target audience is on Facebook. You will need to determine if your ad and your business attracts your target audience and converts to profitable revenue for you.

An article appeared in my email this morning published by WebProNews asking the question which company, Google or Facebook, will emerge as the winner. Essentially, Facebook has the dominant position in social media while Google still hold the number one spot for search.

A brief reflection on business history clearly demonstrates no company dominates the market for very long. Examples include Sears, Woolworth, Microsoft, AOL and the list goes on. The article was valuable as a source of information on the developments occurring over time in the on line landscape where Google and Facebook play. I posted a comment following the article as follows:

“The marketplace rewards those who provide what the market wants. Competition results in more and better ideas delivered faster and the consumer votes.

Google, Facebook, Microsoft and others have great people testing new ideas. The best ideas will result in the most economic reward. The winner is the consumer.”

Alan Bechtold is a legend – Google him and when you click on the link below join his mailing list. Comment on his articles and when you do tell him Steve Pohlit sent you. Then share this idea with your friends. See that is one way social media works. Share the wealth of great content.

I have met Alan several times and while I don’t know him well personally, everyone who does loves the guy and gives him the highest ratings as an on line and off line marketing expert.

OK so you get the picture. Alan’s latest article talks about the importance of branding and especially for social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. What is really cool is how he gives you a great solution then suggests an alternative that is likely more affordable.

This is well worth your time to read and credible advice. I know I have some branding work to do for my businesses and as well as clients of New Digital Media, Inc. Click Here now for Alan’s article

Did you know that if Facebook was a country, it would now be the third largest country in the world?

50% of mobile Internet traffic in the UK is on Facebook.

Statistics can be interesting and these are. However, most everyone know the growth in social media is huge. Here are several ways I use Social Media

1. Research: finding answers to questions using Google and YouTube is very valuable for me.

2. Developing “like minded” relationships. I have developed themed groups on Facebook and I know the people who have joined those groups are interested in the information I share.

3. Expanding the development of business using informative articles posted to blogs and inviting people to those articles on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn.

Those are the Top 3 for me. What about you?

The author has a great reason why his 15 reasons are the worst ones for using social media for your business. This is a recommended read.

The 15 Worst Reasons to Use Social Media For Your Business

by Eric Fulwiler

I am a heavy supporter of social media as a valuable business tool, but only when it is used for the right reasons, and in the right way. Sometimes it’s easy to convince yourself that your reason for using social media for your business is right when it’s actually wrong. So, here it is, in black and white, the 15 worst reasons to use social media for business.

15. Because it’s free to sign up

14. Because you like the idea of going viral

13. Because you heard the buzz about the South by Southwest conference

12. Because you have friends who are successful bloggers

11. Because you can automate many social network feeds

10. Because the 400 million people on Facebook are a new population to advertise to

9. Because other companies have made millions of dollars on Twitter

8. Because the other companies who have used social media have received positive PR

7. Because you read that people trust social network contacts

6. Because you think it’s all return and no investment

5. Because you read a case study in which another business used social media successfully

4. Because consumers are spending more time online

3. Because someone told you that social media was the next big thing

2. Because everyone else is doing it

1. Because you should
